Allied Medical turns 10!
Yip - you guessed it - we've just celebrated a very special birthday - and we're very pleased to report that it has been 10 great years!
Back in 1998, Ken and Katie Noble put their heads together and started Allied Medical. The first agencies that were secured were physiotherapy and orthotic product lines followed quickly by Otto Bock and Columbia. Karma and Pride were not far behind and now these are all 'household' names to you!
It's pretty amazing how time has flown since the first days - we now have a really strong team of 24 and more than 35 product agencies that we are really proud to distribute in New Zealand.
Here's to the next 10 great years!
SYA 2009
We know it only seems like yesterday that the Allied Medical team were parading about in attire fit for the Oscars on the red carpet - but 2009's Show Your Ability is just around the corner. As well as many new products, this event brings a few other changes - like a visit for us all to Rotorua!
So, to make sure you don't miss the New Zealand rehab industry event of the year, here are some dates for your diary:

| Monday 2 March |
Waitakere Trusts Stadium, Auckland |
| Tuesday 3 March |
Rotorua Events Centre, Rotorua |
| Wednesday 4 March |
Arena Manawatu, Palmerston North |
| Monday 9 March |
Pioneer Stadium, Christchurch |
| Tuesday 10 March |
Edgar Stadium, Dunedin |
Behind the scenes here at Allied, we are working on the set design and costumes for this year's theme - and we can guarantee that you'll be impressed - we have a feeling that it might be our best theme yet!
New weight limit for the KP25
More great news - the KP25 rear wheel drive powerchair has just finished some gruelling testing at Karma in Taiwan and we are really pleased to announce that it now has a user weight limit of an impressive 135kgs!
We've known for a while that this robust little powerchair was a durable one - but it's now in the same league as a number of other powerchairs from the Quantum family like the Jazzy 600!

As a preferred product with both accessable and Enable New Zealand this new, increased user weight limit certainly is an added bonus!
