Allied Medical's Tech Support Service has the country covered!
With the commencement of our Wellington based Tech Support technician, John Nyland, we are now able to offer assessors and end users rehab equipment technical expertise right to their door - from Cape Reinga to the Bluff!
If you are not aware of how, we now have three fully equipped Transit 'Jumbo' vans that have inside a fully equipped workshop that means that adjustments and modifications to our trials products and sold items - right where they need to be done - without having to go back to the workshop!

Dynamic Mobility Base now available for the Leckey Squiggles Stander
The Leckey Squiggles standing system has been an absolute success over the last year or two - which you will know if you have prescribed one.
Being one of the smallest, most advanced and easily adjustable products ever to hit the supine/prone stander market for complex under 5's, we knew it was always going to suit a number of kids with varying conditions and the environments that they stand within.
 James Leckey and his team of specialised designers are clever
cookies who find it very hard to sit still for any length of time. As a result Leckey has managed to create a new wheeled base that now makes standing a truly functional activity.
Leckey have been working on this unique mobile chassis for a number of years now - the key to its success being a dynamic suspension system attached to the wheels that allows the stander to tackle uneven terrain.
Leckey's aim in its brief when designing the unit was to come up with a solution that helped children stand in the posture which best suited them and allowed them to engage in a wide range of activities and offer some independent mobility. Given the overall excitement surrounding this product we think they may just have managed to hit the mark so to speak.

Modified Back Hardware on the Varilite Backrests
Since we launched the Varilite Evolution Back range we have had several of you feedback to us some of the challenges you have had with installing the hardware on to wheelchair and powerchair backcanes. Well, you haven’t been alone
- and Varilite have been working hard to design new hardware to make the installation as easy as possible - and it's now available!
The new hardware makes it easier to insert and remove the back system. In order to do this, they have made three improvements:
- To provide extra clearance they have increased the length of the pin. The longer pin moves the shell bracket away from the cane clip. The longer pins better tolerated misalignment without binding.
- On the shell bracket, the have replace the O ring with a lock washer. The lock washer ensures a tight fit and eliminates bracket creep over time.
- Because the long pins allow for a little more play, we added a noise-dampening bumper to the inside of the cane clip.
